49ers, OT Marvel Smith Agree To Two-Year Deal
After the Steelers didn?t welcome back Marvel Smith this winter, the veteran decided he?d continue his career near his most faithful supporters.
Smith agreed to a two-year deal Monday to return to his native Bay Area with the 49ers, who expect him to be their starting right tackle, according to an Associated Press report.
OT Marvel Smith Agrees To Deal With 49ers
Free agent OT Marvel Smith, the former Steelers Pro Bowl standout has agreed on a multiyear contract with the 49ers, according to an ESPN report on Friday.
Details of the contract, confirmed by sources close to Smith, were not yet available. But in a deal that protects the 49ers if Smith suffers further back problems, the nine-year veteran can earn more than $10M, if he is healthy for the first two seasons of the contract.
Vikings Match Bengals' Offer For FB Tahi
The Vikings have matched an offer fullback Naufahu Tahi received from the Bengals, keeping him in Minnesota.
The team matched Cincinnati's offer of one year and $1.4 million on Friday.
Vikings Give Griffin $28.5M Extension
The Vikings have agreed to terms on a five-year, $28.5 million contract extension with cornerback Cedric Griffin.
The deal includes $10.5 million in guarantees, according to a source.
"It's a commitment from the Vikings, and I'm glad they made that commitment because I'm committed to them," Griffin said. "I want to continue to illustrate that I'm a great player for the Vikings."

The Texans reportedly reached a three-year contract agreement with former Lions defensive tackle Shaun Cody that should be finalized Tuesday.
Cody was a second-round pick of Detroit in 2005, but injuries cost him a lot of time early in his career.
Eagles Land Fullback Weaver
The Eagles have agreed to terms on a one-year deal with fullback Leonard Weaver, who was contemplating offers from multiple teams.
The deal is reportedly worth $1.75 million, but contains incentives that would increase the value to $2.5 million.
Weaver had been talking to the Vikings, Bucs, Seahawks and other teams.
DE Spicer, Saints Agree On 1-Year Deal
The Saints have agreed on a two-year deal with defensive end Paul Spicer, formerly of the Jaguars.
Spicer started 52 games over the past four seasons for the Jaguars, but was cut by the team before the start of free agency.
Jets Match Elam's One-Year, $1.5M Deal
The Jets have kept safety Abram Elam in their secondary after matching the one-year, $1.5 million offer he received from the Browns.
Elam was an unrestricted free agent who started nine games last season, his second with the Jets.
Cleveland coach Eric Mangini, who coached New York last season, had already signed four of his former players.

Tomlinson Agrees To New Contract With Chargers
San Diego Chargers president Dean Spanos announced on Tuesday night a new three-year contract with running back LaDainian Tomlinson through 2011.
Tomlinson's old contract also was through 2011.
